After missing the past two shows due to lack of co-ordination with school vacation schedules I was able to attend this year as I retired last summer so school vacations no longer restrict my schedule.
We, Terri, Roy Bear, Eddie Moose, Miss Taffy bear and Bob the Dinosaur and I, drove out to Detroit on Thursday. About 800 miles (1350 KM) from eastern CT in 13 hours. Smooth sailing and no troubles at all. Not even any annoying road work on I-80 across Pennsylvania which was pretty unusual. Once again I am wondering who decided to make PA more than 300 miles (500 KM) cross. The darn state goes on and on and on.
Friday morning we got up early and made our way to the Yack Arena, met up with the other member of NEMES who were in attendance and started taking pictures. On Saturday we got to the show at a few minutes after 8:00 AM and continued taking photos before the hall got crowded. After I had photographed pretty much everything that didn't move I made another pass with the video camera to catch the things that did move!
I must offer the highest compliments to the many people who make this show possible. The arena was impeccable laid out and things seemed to run without a hitch. I know how much work and commitment it takes to put together a show of this size and deeply appreciate the people who make this show work.
I must apologize for the inconsistent photo lighting. Every time I think I have the camera flash settings figured out it proves me wrong. I am tempted to balme the tool but I am sure it is operator error.
These two photos show one side of the arena. The other side is a mirror image of these pictures.
